The Planet Chooses NTT America to Deliver IPv6 Functionality to its Network

(NTTA), a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation and a global enterprise solution provider that integrates networks, hosting and Web infrastructure services, announced today that The Planet will offer its more than 22,000 customers access to IPv6, the next-generation Internet protocol.  Development on the project begins immediately, and The Planet expects to announce availability in late 2008.

IPv6 provides a vast improvement over the current IPv4, deployed in the 1980s, by increasing address space, providing support for mobile devices, and improving quality of service and data security.
